The Cultivation and Poverty Eradication Project

This project aims to leverage aloe vera’s commercial and home garden cultivation to empower individuals, support small farmers, and boost commercial agriculture. It focuses on poverty reduction, rural development, increases employment, and strengthening aloe vera as a crop across different community levels.
Aloe Vera Home Garden Project
Objective: To empower low-income households by encouraging aloe vera cultivation in home gardens as a sustainable income source.
Implementation: Families with low incomes are provided with aloe vera saplings, basic training on planting, maintenance, and harvesting techniques.
Benefits: This project promotes self-sufficiency, as aloe vera requires minimal care and grows well even in arid conditions. Households can sell harvested aloe vera leaves locally to generate income and improve their quality of life.
Outcomes: This approach creates a poverty alleviation mechanism by providing an economic activity that is accessible to under-resourced communities.
Pilot Project of Aloe Vera Cultivation as Home Gardens

This project aims to transform Sri Lanka’s rural economy by promoting aloe vera cultivation in home gardens. By empowering families to grow and sell aloe vera, it generates sustainable income, enhances food security, and encourages environmental stewardship. Aloe vera’s resilience and minimal maintenance make it ideal for small-scale cultivation, helping communities build self-sufficiency. This initiative not only creates economic opportunities but also supports a greener, more sustainable future for Sri Lanka, fostering prosperity and environmental health across the nation.
Project Flow
- Selection of Suitable Families: A careful selection process is carried out to choose suitable families to participate. The following criteria are applied:

- Training & Land Preparation: The following steps are followed:
- Training:

- About the project
- About the cultivation
- About land preparation
- Practical training
- Land Preparation:

- Soil testing
- Land preparation
- Using organic fertilizers
- Preparing beds for cultivation
- Continues Monitoring: This includes:

- Regular Field Visits by Agricultural Officers: Officers visit specific regions to monitor crops, offer guidance, and check for pests and diseases to ensure proper cultivation.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Data on crop growth, harvest yields, and farmer performance is collected. This data is used to analyze trends, identify any issues, and ensure adherence to targeted interventions.
- Feedback and Improvement Loops: Regular reviews with farmers and the project team address challenges and improve the cultivation process. This ensures the system remains responsive to farmer needs and any environmental changes.
- Implementing Standards: Measures are implemented to maintain high standards, contributing to poverty reduction and environmental sustainability in Sri Lanka.
- Mobile Monitoring and Reporting System: A mobile app or SMS-based system allows farmers to submit updates on their crops, including pest and disease data. The system can send reminders and tips, allowing officers to review progress remotely.
- Workshops and Demonstration Days: Periodic workshops and demonstrations are conducted to introduce new techniques and best practices, and to share experiences. This allows farmers to learn from each other.
- Incentive Program for Compliance and Best Practices: An incentive program rewards farmers who consistently follow best practices and achieve good yields. This includes discounted supplies or certification that increases product value.
- Farmer Group Meetings and Peer Monitoring: Meetings for farmer groups or cooperatives are held, where members can provide mutual support, share knowledge, and help ensure accountability.
- Harvesting: An efficient harvesting system is implemented to streamline collection, ensure quality, and maximize income for farmers. The proposed system includes:

- Harvesting Guidelines and Training: Farmers are trained on how to identify mature leaves for harvesting, use proper cutting techniques, and handle the post-harvest process to maintain leaf quality.
- Organized Harvest Schedules: A staggered harvest schedule is implemented, coordinated with agricultural officers to ensure a consistent market supply and avoid oversupply.
- Centralized Collection Points: Local collection centers are established where harvested aloe vera leaves can be brought, reducing transportation challenges and costs.
- Quality Control and Grading: A grading system categorizes aloe vera leaves based on factors like size, thickness, and the absence of damage. This ensures that only high-quality products reach the market and maintain price consistency.
- Transport and Logistics System: A logistics provider is used to ensure efficient transportation of leaves from collection points to processing or distribution centers.
Expected Outcomes (Monthly Income per family)

Total number of families to be participated: 50,000 families
Monthly income per family: 25,000 LKR
Total income per family per annum: 25,000 LKR x 12 months = 300,000 LKR
Total income of the project = 300,000/- per family x 50,000 families = 15 Billion rupees per annum.
Commercial Cultivation Project
Our aloe vera commercial investment project is designed to create sustainable, secure investment opportunities for individuals planning for retirement. By offering plots of land for Aloe Vera and TJC mango cultivation, investors can enjoy monthly profits starting from the sixth month with aloe vera and from the 36th month with mango yields, along with long-term land value appreciation. This project provides a solid, risk-free income stream for our investors but also contributes significantly to the national GDP. Through the export of premium aloe vera products and frozen mango chunks, we aim to generate foreign currency and enhance the global reach of our agricultural produce.
This investment plan stands out due to its strong blend of security, flexibility, and transparency, making it ideal for investors seeking stability and regular income. By offering both land transfers and a flexible exit option without capital losses, it appeals to those cautious about long-term agricultural ventures. The market value formula, which incorporates appreciation alongside cultivation and investment costs, is a unique selling point, ensuring a fair valuation and an investor-friendly structure.
